Why Duel exists

Streaks are cheap. You can restart them tomorrow. Apps reward the act of re-engaging with the app, not the act of doing the hard thing.

We wanted a tool that made drift genuinely expensive — not in gamified points, but in the currency that actually hurts: your money, moving to someone who watched you miss.

Duel is a commitment contract, not a habit tracker. The stake is real. The escrow is held by a regulated third party. The ledger is transparent. And when a point is missed, the money moves that day.

This is deliberate. We believe the people we want to help have tried everything soft. They don't need another dopamine loop. They need teeth.
