Honest questions.

Does Duel make money even when I keep my stake?: No. If you hit your standard, every dollar returns to you. Duel only earns a share of forfeited points — the same moment you lose money, we take a cut of what would have been lost regardless.
Where is the money actually held?: In a dedicated Stripe escrow balance, separate from Duel Limited's operating funds. When points resolve, Stripe moves the money directly between the involved accounts. Duel never holds custody of raw funds.
What counts as a point?: One point per pillar per scoring period. A 30-day contract with three daily pillars is 90 points. Stake is divided evenly across points; remainder lands on the final point.
Can I cancel mid-contract?: No. That's the design. A commitment you can cancel when it gets inconvenient is not a commitment. You can decline before signing, and you can dispute individual scoring mistakes.
What about NZ gambling law?: Duel is structured as a program purchase with a conditional refund, not a wager. Your counterparty is not betting against you — they have skin on the same outcome. Full legal framing is in our terms.
